Standard Learning Pathways
With its’ integrated education ethos, and diverse array of volunteer options, volunteering with the Cape Prosperity Alliance offers many practical and theoretical learning pathways. The core learning platform for the Cape Prosperity Alliance is the Regenerative Systems Design Course — RSD Course.
The RSD Course is a blend of online content that is provided by international experts — this being: course content, additional reading & videos, online tutoring — and in-person practicals where participants apply what they have learnt into a Cape Prosperity volunteer project of their choice. The many modules can be studied as stand alone courses.
edu points — a key to universal affordability
edu points are issued to volunteers when they join the Cape Prosperity Alliance and when they reach a certain # token & RSD qualification thresholds. Volunteers can use their edu points to get up to 100% discounts on a diverse range of local and international online and offline courses.
edu points from volunteerism are awarded at a scaled rate based on RSD Qualification level. The reason for this is that volunteers that are qualified in regenerative systems design are able to professionally design & lead projects, and impart knowledge to other volunteers.
# tokens are awarded to volunteers at 1 # per hour of volunteering.
Although RegenCAN members are allocated 100 edu points when joining, they can’t earn edu points from volunteering — this is because they work and do not volunteer. N.B. When joining the Cape Prosperity Alliance, RegenCAN members joining fees are discounted by 80%. To prevent abuse of the discount, they can only convert to being standard Cape Prosperity Alliance members by paying the full joining fee that was applicable at their time of joining.

MSc Pathways
After obtaining a Master Holistic Design Certificate, students have the opportunity to ‘continue’ or ‘upgrade’ their Level 7 third-party RSD Course studies towards a MSc. Five masters degree pathways are available!
Achieving Level 7 of the RSD Course — Master Holistic Design Certificate — ensures that students are more than capable in studying towards a MSc degree because students that choose this pathway study a core 30 credit module of the MSc.
The 5 recommended MSc (Master of Sciences) degrees are offered by Centre for Alternative Technology (CAT) in partnership with the Liverpool John Moores University or the University of East London.
Volunteers that have achieved a Master Holistic Design Certificate will have the knowledge and practical experience to regeneratively ‘re-design’ society at any scale. This primarily due to the fact that practical experience is integrated into every level of the RSD Course.
All students do their prescribed practicals by volunteering in projects that are related to their studies. Practical experience is thus seamlessly integrated with volunteerism.
Although far fewer in numbers, volunteers with regenerative systems design orientated masters & PhD degrees, are key to reshaping policy and governance at a local and international level. Why? Masters & PhD degrees are the ‘preferred’ qualification for leaders in our top down world!!!
