1,000 Hour Target

The hours volunteered target for all Cape Prosperity volunteers is 1,000. This target is achievable within 4 years at 5 hours of volunteerism per week.

Impact

Change at a Grand Scale

It is obvious that 1,000 dedicated volunteers in a small town of 10,000 people would be able to transform their community completely. Their 1 million hours of goal orientated volunteerism would be a catalyst for change at a grand scale.

However, to be most effective, there would still be a need for the sponsorship of the many goods & services used by volunteers to uplift the community. This is where the support from business — via the ‘1% for the Cape’ Initiative — is most effective.

Knowledge Base

Capacity Building

Capacity building is a process of developing and strengthening the skills, knowledge, resources, and structures of individuals, organisations, or communities to enhance their ability to achieve their goals and improve their performance. It’s about ensuring that entities can effectively address challenges, adapt to changes, and contribute to their goals over the long term.

Cape Prosperity is primarily helping to build community capacity by increasing the skills / knowledge base of community members. The collective skills / knowledge base of the Cape region will thus grow exponentially every day, and this is the foundation on which we can build a thriving prosperous society, without it, we are doomed!
